ABOUT
Originally from Chicago, I had an early fascination with ceramics that grew into a lifelong passion, leading me to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My work is deeply inspired by traditional forms, the human figure, and the natural textures I observe in the world around me. Specializing in hand-built ceramics, I use coiling and slab techniques that allow me to slow down and connect to my materials in a deeply meditative way.
As an artist with a background in both drawing and makeup artistry, I incorporate surface decoration techniques that reflect the balance of letting go and maintaining control. Repeating contour lines, freehand scribbling, surface carving, and gradations of color allow me to create textures and patterns that add depth and personality to each piece. These details, though often spontaneous, are rooted in a process of intentionality and reflection. My work is as much about the journey of creation as it is about the finished object—it is a conversation between my hands and the clay, between control and freedom.
Now based in New York, I continue to make each piece by hand in my home studio in Sunnyside, Queens. Every form is an expression of quiet attention and spiritual connection, where the material itself guides the process, slowly revealing each unique form.
